Siena is one of the few cities in the world that can boast three IGP products: Panforte di Siena IGP Margherita, Ricciarelli di Siena IGP, and Cantuccini Toscani IGP. The Protected Geographical Indication identifies a product that has at least one of its production phases within a defined geographical area. This geographical area is characterized by specific environmental, climatic, and soil conditions that contribute to the product's unique characteristics. The Protected Geographical Indication identifies a product for which at least one of its production stages takes place within a defined geographical area, and this geographical area attributes characteristics of quality, reputation, or other characteristics, recognized and protected by specific regulations and controls.
